5th International Humanitarian Law Inter-School Debate Series

The CSCJ Debate Team has successfully stood their ground as the affirmative side with the proposition: Let it be resolved that the use of water cannons by China in the West Philippine Sea against the Philippines be considered an “act of war” on August 24, 2024, at Iloilo Science and Technology University-Lapaz Campus. The CSCJ debate team comprised Kriss Anne Therese Tejida from Grade 12 HUMMS as the first speaker and Kenneth John De la Vega from Grade 12 STEM as the second speaker. De la Vega was declared “Best Speaker.” The team captain, John Gabriel Tacaisan from Grade 12 STEM, was also announced as the “best debater.” The team was supported by their reserved speaker, Cris Gabriel Guanzon from Grade 12 STEM. CSCJ’s debate team was assisted by their dedicated researchers, namely Aryana Marcial from Grade 12 STEM, Jeannica Mishe Esponilla from Grade 11 STEM, and Ellise Antoinne Brey from Grade 11 STEM. Due to their hard work and commitment, they have contributed to the success of the team! Along with their supportive coaches, namely: Ms. Mary Gel F.
